What is the ruling on using the duff (tambourine), knowing that the Ansar greeted the Prophet (peace be upon him) with it upon his emigration?

The story mentioned by the questioner about Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, concerning the Ansar's saying, "The full moon has risen upon us," upon the Prophet's arrival in Medina, was narrated by Al-Bayhaqi, but it contains omissions and errors, and the hadith is disconnected and weak. However, it was reported on the authority of Anas, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, passed by young girls from Bani An-Najjar who were beating drums and saying, "We are young girls from Bani An-Najjar; how excellent is Muhammad as a neighbor." This was authenticated by Al-Albani, and it occurred upon the Prophet's arrival in Medina.
