Must the bride perform ghusl to remove hairspray before the marriage prayer?

If hairspray prevents water from reaching the hair, then ablution (wudu') or ritual purification (ghusl) is not valid unless it is removed. As for one who performs ablution and then applies it, there is no harm in her praying with it, as long as it is not impure (najis). Regarding showering for the wedding prayer, it is not obligatory unless there is a major ritual impurity such as janabah (sexual defilement), menstruation, or post-childbirth bleeding (nifas). In such a case, everything that prevents water from reaching the body must be removed.
