What the father leaves behind, after fulfilling all due rights, is considered an inheritance to be divided among his heirs according to Islamic law. The heirs can divide the inheritance by one of three methods: muhayah (division of usufruct), muradah (division by mutual consent), or qur'ah (lottery for divisible assets, selling indivisible assets and distributing the proceeds).
