What is the ruling on my use of inherited money placed under the guardianship of the حسبى Council (Guardianship Council) based on man-made law, and is this considered seeking judgment from other than the Law of Allah?

The money your father left is yours, and you should benefit from it and abandon the delirium that you were a disbeliever and then embraced Islam. For deeming lawful the recourse to man-made laws, resulting from ignorance, is not considered disbelief. And placing money under the guardianship of the حسبى [Hasbi] Council is a good matter. An orphan does not deserve to dispose of his money merely upon reaching puberty, but rather after his sound judgment is ascertained. Recourse to man-made law to claim what a person knows is his right according to Sharia is not considered disbelief. The Hanbali madhhab holds that an apostate, if he embraces Islam before the division of the inheritance, is entitled to his share thereof.
