Is there repentance for one whose hearing and heart are sealed and whose eyes are veiled, and is he considered an apostate after the sealing, and is his prayer valid?
No one is judged to have apostatized merely for committing sins and persisting in them. The door of repentance is open to every sinner, even an apostate, and it does not close until the sun rises from the west or the soul reaches the throat (ghargara), for Allah Almighty says: "Indeed, repentance is due from Allah to those who do evil in ignorance and then repent soon after. It is those to whom Allah will turn in forgiveness, and Allah is ever Knowing and Wise." And Allah's forgiveness is greater than any sin.
