What is the ruling on a woman who refuses intercourse during the daytime in Ramadan?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

Intercourse during the day in Ramadan can occur in four scenarios:

First: If both spouses are not fasting due to a permissible excuse, such as travel or similar reasons, then there is no objection to it.

Second: If both are fasting and have no permissible excuse for breaking the fast, then it is forbidden for them.

Third: If one of them is fasting and has no permissible excuse for breaking the fast, then it is not permissible for the fasting person to engage in intercourse, nor is it permissible for the other to respond to them.

Fourth: If both are fasting, or the wife is fasting but not the husband, and they have a permissible excuse that allows them to break their fast, then the husband has no right to prevent her from continuing her fast if breaking the fast is not better.
