What do you say concerning a man for whom it is not Islamically permissible to have intercourse with his wife on a Ramadan night, despite Allah Almighty's saying: "It has been made permissible for you the night of the fast to approach your women"?
A man is permitted to have intercourse with his wife on nights, so long as there is no impediment. Such impediments include: if he is engaged in an act of worship during which intercourse is forbidden, such as prayer, fasting, Iʿtikāf (seclusion in a mosque), or Hajj; or if the woman is menstruating, based on the verse: "So keep away from females during menstruation. And do not approach them until they purify themselves"; or if she is ill and intercourse would harm her, based on the : "There shall be no harm or reciprocating harm." If no impediment exists, then he is permitted to have intercourse with her, based on the verse: "It has been made lawful for you during the nights of fasting to approach your women."
