Is it permissible to audibly greet one's wife while she is praying, or should one suffice with greeting her silently?

If you enter upon your wife while she is praying, it is permissible to greet her with salaam. As for saying, "Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah," this is said upon entering an empty house.
