Speaking about the Children of Israel is permissible concerning matters we do not know to be false, and it should be for drawing lessons and admonition, not for asserting certainty. This is because narrating from them does not necessitate researching the authenticity of the chain of transmission due to the great distance and long duration, and because the Prophet does not permit speaking falsehoods. So, if what you narrate from them is a lie, do not narr narrate it. If the narration of their stories is for the purpose of drawing lessons, then it is permissible. However, acting upon abrogated rulings is not permissible, because the prohibition against narrating their stories and looking into their books was in the early days of Islam before the rulings were established.
