How can Allah's exaltedness be reconciled with the heavens being rolled up in His right hand?

There is no contradiction between Allah's exaltedness and His rolling up the heavens on the Day of Resurrection. Allah's exaltedness means that He is above everything: above the heavens, the Throne, and every creature. It is an exaltedness of subjugation, power, and essence. The texts that mention Allah being "in the heaven" mean "above" or "over the heaven," for Allah is not contained within the heavens, nor is He encompassed by anything of His creation. The early Muslims (Salaf) unanimously agreed that Allah is above His heavens, upon His Throne, independent of the Throne and everything beneath it, encompassing everything and being above it. The claim that Allah is inside the heavens or in need of them for His exaltedness is a false assumption.
