What is the ruling on not understanding or forgetting issues related to the Essence of Allah, His place, and anthropomorphism after studying them? Does that necessitate disbelief, especially with the belief that "there is nothing like unto Him"? How should one answer someone who asks about Allah's place? And are the People of the Sunnah and the Community (Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama’ah) multiple sects?

The general Muslim populace is not commanded to learn intricate matters of creed, nor are they addressed with such. Rather, they are commanded with the established general principles from the Qur’an, Sunnah, and consensus, without delving into details that cause division and discord. What is obligatory upon a servant is general belief, and knowledge of the specifics is not obligatory. The Sunnis are not multiple sects; rather, they are the saved group (Al-Firqat An-Najiyah), safeguarded from disagreement concerning the fundamental principles and universal truths of the religion, and differences among them are permissible.
