Is it permissible to trim the beard to avoid the harm resulting from it, such as losing one's job and the inability to support one's family, due to government agencies pursuing bearded men under the current circumstances?

Growing and maintaining a beard is obligatory, and it is not permissible to abandon this obligation except in cases of necessity. If it becomes impossible to earn a livelihood except by trimming the beard in an unauthorized manner or by shaving it, then it is permissible to trim it only to the extent necessary to avert harm. Thereafter, it must be allowed to grow back once the necessity ceases. One must endure trials, adhere to obedience to Allah, and hold fast to Him, and not abandon the obligations of Sharia except in cases of necessity, as Allah Almighty says: "So fear Allah as much as you are able."
