Is it permissible for a traveler's wife to stay in her husband's family home in his absence, when his adult male and female relatives are present?

There is no objection to the wife remaining in the house of the husband's family during his travel, if the wife agrees and adheres to the Shariah guidelines such as modesty and avoiding seclusion. Otherwise, she has the right to an independent dwelling. Leaving the wife in her family's home might be preferable, as it is safer for her and further removes her from problems that might occur between the wife and the husband's family in his absence.
