Is it permissible for me to name my son Michael (Mika'il)?

It is preferable to choose good names for a boy, such as Abdullah and Abdurrahman. Most scholars have allowed naming with the names of angels, but others disliked it. It is better to refrain from naming with the names of angels and choose a name about which scholars have not differed. As for naming females with the names of angels, it is forbidden, because it imitates the polytheists who made the angels females.
