How is an inheritance divided among a mother, two brothers, and two sisters?

If the deceased leaves behind only a mother, two full brothers, and two full sisters, the mother receives one-sixth as her prescribed share due to the presence of a group of siblings, based on the Almighty's saying: ﴿فَإِنْ كَانَ لَهُ إِخْوَةٌ فَلِأُمِّهِ السُّدُسُ﴾ [And if he has siblings, then for his mother is the sixth]. The remainder goes to the two brothers and two sisters by way of ta'sib (residuary inheritance), with the male receiving the share of two females, based on the Almighty's saying: ﴿وَإِنْ كَانُوا إِخْوَةً رِجَالًا وَنِسَاءً فَلِلذَّكَرِ مِثْلُ حَظِّ الْأُنْثَيَيْنِ﴾ [And if they are brothers and sisters, then for the male is the share of two females]. Thus, the inheritance is divided into thirty-six shares: the mother receives six shares, each full brother receives ten shares, and each full sister receives five shares.

It must be noted that matters of inheritance are serious and complex, and a mere fatwa (definition) is insufficient; rather, they must be referred to the Sharia (definition) courts for review and investigation. This is because there might be another heir, or wills, or debts, or other rights unknown to the heirs, which take precedence over the heirs' right to the money. Therefore, the inheritance should not be divided without consulting the Sharia courts.
