Does the absolute preference for reciting the Quran over praying upon the Prophet (peace be upon him) mean abandoning the allocation of time for praying upon him and focusing solely on the Quran?

Reciting the Qur’an is among the best forms of remembrance (dhikr), as for every letter there are ten good deeds. However, preferring the Qur’an does not mean abandoning other forms of remembrance. One should combine reciting the Qur’an with sending blessings upon the Prophet, peace be upon him, especially on Fridays. Some scholars have mentioned that sending blessings upon the Prophet, peace be upon him, on Friday might be better than reciting the Qur’an on that day, while others hold that the best approach is to combine both.
