How sound is the popular tradition: "No nation ever differed after its prophet except that its people of falsehood prevailed over its people of truth," and what is its meaning, and does it imply that every nation that differed had the saved group as a minority?

The circulating Hadith: "No nation differed after its Prophet except that its people of falsehood prevailed over its people of truth" is weak, and not authentically attributed to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. Similarly, the narration attributed to Al-Sha'bi with the same meaning is also weak.

Other weak Hadiths have been reported in this context, but authentic Hadiths confirm that this Ummah will remain manifest upon the truth until the Day of Judgment, and that the people of falsehood will not completely prevail over the people of truth to the extent of entirely obliterating the religion, unlike previous nations that were ravaged due to their disagreements.

This manifestation continues until just before the Hour is established, when Allah sends a wind that takes the souls of the believers, and the worst of creation remain, upon whom the Hour will be established. Therefore, disagreement within this Ummah does not lead to the complete prevalence of the people of falsehood over the people of truth.
