What is the criterion for understanding al-Tahawi's statement, "And every matter is easy for Him," and the Almighty's saying, "It is easier for Him"?

Firstly: Al-Tahawi's statement, "And every matter is easy for Him," does not require clarification, and there is no comparison between two matters in his words. The Holy Quran is replete with verses indicating the ease of matters for Allah Almighty, and this ease for Him is of a single degree, as in His saying: (Have they not seen how Allah originates creation and then repeats it? Indeed, that is easy for Allah.) and His saying: (And whoever does that in aggression and injustice – We will drive him into a Fire. And that has always been for Allah easy.)

Secondly: The meaning of Allah Almighty's saying: (And He it is who originates creation, then He will return it; and it is [even] easier for Him) is a matter of giving an intellectual example to refute those who deny resurrection, and to demonstrate their contradiction in acknowledging the initial creation while dismissing its repetition. Otherwise, it is well-known that there is no difference in the creation and re-creation of beings with respect to Allah Almighty's power, as He Almighty said: (Indeed, His command, when He intends a thing, is only that He says to it, "Be," and it is.)

Ibn al-Jawzi mentioned in "Zad al-Masir" four interpretations of the verse, the strongest of which is that the verse addresses people with what they can comprehend, teaching them that, in their estimation and judgment, resurrection should be easier for them than the initial creation. For whoever is able to originate something, resurrection would be easier for him. This is the choice of Al-Farra, Al-Mubarrad, and Az-Zajjaj, and it is the opinion of Muqatil. This is what Al-Baghawi referred to by saying: "In the manner of giving an example, meaning: it is easier for Him, according to what occurs to your minds, for what occurs to people's minds is that repetition is easier than origination."
