One must remember death and that it may come while a person is engaged in disobedience to Allah. One should occupy the soul with obedience to Allah, and remember that the soul loves desires, while the wise person sees Paradise as the greatest pleasure. Fasting is also recommended to reduce lust, and focus on the lawful wife.
