Is it true that no authentic hadith has been reported from the Prophet regarding masturbation, and is the reason for this due to the Arabs not knowing about it, or is it that what he mentioned has not reached us?

The ruling on masturbation has been previously clarified in previous fatwas. The ruling on masturbation can be inferred from the Prophet's (peace be upon him) hadith: "O young men, whoever among you can afford to marry, let him do so, for it is more effective in lowering the gaze and guarding the private parts. And whoever cannot afford it, let him fast, for it will be a shield for him." This hadith clarifies how to deal with the surge of desire in youth, and if masturbation were permissible or good, the Prophet (peace be upon him) would have guided to it. Likewise, its ruling was mentioned in the Holy Quran in His (the Almighty's) saying: "And those who guard their private parts, except from their wives or those whom their right hands possess – for indeed, they are not to be blamed – But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors." Scholars have used this verse to deduce the prohibition of releasing desire except with a wife or a slave girl, and that whoever seeks beyond that is among the transgressors.
