Is there any hope for the rectification of someone who was among those who carried the Book of Allah, yet suffers from hardness of heart, addiction to watching pornography, excessive prayer, abandoning the Quran, and preoccupation with worldly matters, so that he may feel remorse and desire to join the ranks of students of knowledge?
It is advisable to strive diligently in repentance and turning to Allah, seeking His help and supplicating Him to assist one in remembering Him, thanking Him, and worshipping Him well, and to keep one away from helplessness and laziness. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to seek refuge in Allah from helplessness and laziness. Improving one's condition is possible by sincerely resorting to Allah and taking the necessary means, acquiring knowledge through perseverance and diligence, and utilizing the internet for scholarly lessons, admonitory lectures, and Quran recitations, while avoiding corrupting websites and avoiding isolation when using the internet. It is recommended to set a daily program for reviewing the Quran and studying lessons, reading the biographies of the Salaf and beneficial stories, engaging in physical exercise, striving for the welfare of Muslims, and frequently reading books of encouragement and deterrence, and contemplating the horrors of the Day of Judgment. It is also important to associate with good companions and participate with them in charitable works and their lessons to benefit from their companionship.
