Who are Abul Hasan ash-Shadhili and Al-Mursi Abul Abbas?

Ash-Shadhili and Al-Mursi are two prominent figures of theShadhiliyya Sufi order, and their followers have exaggerated in their veneration of them. Ash-Shadhili was born in 571 AH and died in Upper Egypt in 656 AH. He was one of the great scholars and devoted himself to worship. As for Al-Mursi, he was born in Murcia, Andalusia, in 616 AH and died in Alexandria in 680 AH. He was a scholar and succeeded Ash-Shadhili in the order.
