The woman has disobeyed her Lord by committing adultery, and she must repent and seek forgiveness for this great sin. As for emergency contraceptive pills, they prevent pregnancy and do not cause abortion. They work by preventing or hindering fertilization or by obstructing the implantation of a fertilized egg. They are not like abortion pills, which work after pregnancy has occurred. Giving these pills to an adulteress is not permissible because it encourages immorality.
