Will Allah punish us for our feelings of hatred towards certain people, even though we strive to rid ourselves of this feeling, knowing that their actions are the cause of this hatred?

People are of two types: those who love and those who hate. And each of these is either a lover of good and a hater of evil, or the opposite. Loving people of good is obligatory, and hating them is forbidden. And loving a wrongdoer for his wrongdoing is forbidden. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "A person will be with whom he loves." It is obligatory to hate people of evil and to love people of good, for the sake of Allah the Almighty.
