What is the ruling on selling a car in installments before owning it, then buying it from the dealership?

If the deferred sale contract for the car with the person is not concluded until after it is purchased from the showroom and enters into the seller's warranty, then there is no harm in that. What transpired between the two parties before the purchase is considered a promise and not a sale.
