What is the ruling on marriage games in forums and on the Internet, which are intended for fun and are not serious, and is it permissible for participants to marry each other off in them?

It is impermissible for a young man to communicate with a non-mahram woman except for a legitimate purpose and within Islamic guidelines. Mere playful interaction between young men and women on the internet is forbidden, whether it involves joking about marriage or anything else. The prohibition becomes even stronger if it involves joking about marriage, as it is a great sign from Allah and a solemn covenant.
