Is it permissible for a man and a woman to love a stranger for the sake of Allah? Is it valid to dedicate the reward of reciting the Quran or giving charity to a living person? Does the reward of praying for someone in their absence reach the one prayed for in this world and the hereafter? Is it permissible to give a gift to a married woman as an expression of love, provided there is no fear of temptation?

There is no harm in pure heartfelt love for the sake of Allah, but one should not inform a non-mahram (definition) woman of this love, as it may lead to fitna (temptation/strife). If love for a righteous woman occurs, it should be concealed, and one should strive to avoid committing what is forbidden. As for dedicating the reward of good deeds to living persons, this was not the practice of the Pious Predecessors (Salaf), but it is permissible according to some jurists, such as the Hanafis and Hanbalis. There is no evidence to suggest that a person will be surprised by his brother's supplication on the Day of Resurrection, or that the person being prayed for in absentia will feel it. Finally, it is permissible for a man to give a gift to a non-mahram woman, provided it is not for a corrupt purpose or a sin.
