If the money is owned by the wife, she is free to dispose of it, and it would be better if she sought her husband's permission. If the money belongs to the husband and he dislikes her giving it away as charity, she is not permitted to dispose of it except with his permission.

If the husband prevents his wife from spending beyond what is obligatory for her maintenance, there is no blame upon him, and the wife should not dispose of his money except with his permission. However, if he withholds her obligatory maintenance, she is permitted to take it from his money without his permission.
