Who are the Family of 'Imran mentioned in the Qur'an, what are their virtues and characteristics, and is Moses son of 'Imran among them?

"Al Imran," whom Allah chose and favored above all peoples, refers to the family of Imran, the father of Mary, peace be upon her, not the father of Moses. Allah chose them by placing prophethood among them, as represented by Isa (Jesus) and Yahya (John), peace be upon them both. They were a household of righteousness and piety, renowned for their religiosity and worship, and for the many virtues attributed to their individual members in the Holy Quran, which indicates their high status with Allah.
