What is the wisdom behind prohibiting silk, and has it been scientifically proven that silk increases female hormones in men?

Allah has forbidden the men of the Prophet's ﷺ Ummah from wearing silk, except in cases of necessity, such as war or illness. The Prophet ﷺ warned that whoever disobeys this will be deprived of it in the Hereafter. Among the reasons for the prohibition of silk are: arrogance, the corruption of men imitating women, and what it engenders of effeminacy, transvestism, pride, and vanity. As for the health harm of silk to men, we have no knowledge of it.
