What are the Six Books, why were they given that name, and is their authenticity reliable?

The term "The Six Books" was given to six hadith compilations: Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Sunan an-Nasa'i, Sunan at-Tirmidhi, Sunan Abi Dawud, and Sunan Ibn Majah. This is because they are considered the soundest books in this field. The Ummah has accepted Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, with the exception of a few hadiths that some Huffaz (hadith masters) criticized. As for the four Sunan books, they contain weak hadiths, and judging their authenticity requires tracing their chains of narration.
