Was the sacrifice of Abel the ransom for Ishmael (peace be upon him)?

The exegetes mentioned that Allah ransomed Ishmael with a great ram. It was said that it was a horned ram that had grazed in Paradise for forty autumns, and it was the ram that Allah accepted from the son of Adam. It was also said that what he was ransomed with was a wild goat or a male goat.
