Why did Allah praise Himself in the Qur’an and in prayer by our saying: "Allah hears the one who praises Him," even though He is not in need of human praise and commendation?

Allah Almighty loves praise, and He has praised Himself and commanded His servants to praise Him, because He is deserving of it, and because the praise of His servants for Him represents the establishment of truth and the upholding of justice. In this praise, there is benefit for the servants in this world and the hereafter, because it increases their rewards, and it adds nothing to Allah's dominion, for He is free of need from all creation. Praising Allah and extolling Him removes the attributes of arrogance from the servant, reveals to him his true status and weakness, and opens for him the door to servitude to Allah, and thereby the knowledge of Allah through His names and attributes and the fulfillment of His rightful worship.
