Is it permissible to coerce a worker into selling the shop he bought from his employer, after the first employer stipulated that he not work in the same area?

The condition imposed by the shop owner on the worker, preventing him from working in the same area or opening his own business, is a corrupt and invalid condition Islamically. It is not permissible to stipulate it or agree to it, nor is it binding to fulfill if the worker agreed to it under duress. This is based on the narration of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) concerning Barirah, where the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "What is wrong with men who stipulate conditions that are not in the Book of Allah? Any condition that is not in the Book of Allah is invalid." As for the sale of the shop to the worker, it was done by mutual consent, so it is not permissible to expel him from it or compel him to sell it, based on the words of Allah Almighty: "O you who have believed, do not consume your properties among yourselves wrongfully, but only [in lawful] trade by mutual consent." Therefore, striving to restrict a worker's livelihood and expelling him from his work unjustly is not permissible Islamically.
