What are the reasons for prioritizing the fear of people over the fear of Allah, and how can the consciousness and fear of Allah be strengthened in private and in public?

A person's fear of people, similar to their fear of Allah, stems from a weakness in Tawhid (monotheism) and ignorance of Allah's power. Indeed, those who truly know Allah are the most fearful of Him. Strengthening one's awareness of Allah's constant watchfulness comes from knowing that diligence today brings ease tomorrow, and that its reward is Paradise, while its loss is Hellfire. A Muslim must not neglect to hold himself accountable in all his movements and stillness, for every breath is a precious jewel that must be utilized in obedience to Allah. A person should monitor himself before and during an action to ensure that Allah is the motivating factor. His self-monitoring concerning disobedience is through repentance, and concerning permissible matters, it is by observing proper etiquette, expressing gratitude, and practicing patience.
