How do I fear Allah, the Almighty, the Most Merciful, while I am lost?

Fear of Allah is obligatory, for it is a security on the Day of Judgment. Fear of Him is achieved by reading the Qur'an and pondering its meanings, by contemplating the gravity of sin, by piety through performing acts of obedience and avoiding prohibitions, by revering the sacred limits of Allah, by knowing His names and attributes, by knowing the merit of those who fear Him, by reflecting upon the states of those who fear, the unjust, and the disobedient, and upon the Day of Judgment, by listening to impactful admonitions, by frequently remembering Allah, and by fearing the sudden onset of punishment and the inability to repent.
