Is the wife obligated to refrain from eating from the money of her father who sells alcohol, in the event that the husband is unable to provide for her and claims that furnishing the house is a luxury that is not incumbent upon him?

The husband must provide for his wife adequately, according to what is customary. This includes housing, food, clothing, education expenses, medical treatment, furniture, household appliances, and a maid. All of this depends on what is commonly recognized in the couple's country and their financial situation. The husband must work and earn a living to fulfill his financial obligations as ordained by Allah. The wife, in turn, should assist him and be patient if he cannot find lawful work. As for the wife benefiting from her father's money, there is no harm in it because his money is not entirely unlawful. The mixed wealth of a father is not forbidden for his children to benefit from, especially given her need and her husband's failure to provide for her adequately.
