How is the inheritance divided between a full brother and three full sisters when the deceased has debts?

The debts of the deceased must be settled before distributing the inheritance, even if it depletes all the assets. If the deceased has no heirs other than those mentioned, the estate is to be divided among them by 'asabah (agnatic relationship), with the male receiving the equivalent of the share of two females, in accordance with the verse: "And if they are brothers, men and women, then for the male is the portion of two females" (An-Nisa: 176). Thus, the estate is to be divided into five shares: two shares for the male and one share for each female.
