Is it permissible for a wife to pray in front of her husband?

It is permissible for a woman to pray alone in front of her husband, but not as an imam for him, whether she is to his right, his left, behind him, or in front of him.

As for her leading him in prayer as an imam, this is not permissible according to the general consensus of scholars, due to the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Keep them (women) in the position where Allah has placed them (behind men)," and due to Jabir's Marfu' narration: "A woman should not lead a man in prayer." Furthermore, her leading men in prayer involves temptation (fitna). If she prays with him in congregation, she stands behind him.
