Is changing the company's name during phone calls for research purposes considered a lie, and what should be done about it?

Islam forbids and warns against lying. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, informed us that lying leads to wickedness, which in turn leads to Hellfire. In the Sahihayn, he said: "Indeed, truthfulness leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise. A man continues to be truthful until he is recorded with Allah as a truthful one. And indeed, lying leads to wickedness, and wickedness leads to the Fire. A man continues to lie until he is recorded with Allah as a liar." So long as you can find an alternative to lying, it is not permissible to commit it. However, in cases of necessity, one can use tawriyah (double entendre) and ma'areedh (allusive speech) to avoid forbidden lying.
