The times when it is forbidden to pray supererogatory (nafl) prayers were clarified in Fatwa no. 49369, along with the hadith specifying them and the wisdom behind the prohibition. The times of prohibition between the appearance of dawn and sunrise, and between the Asr prayer and sunset, are not regulated by hours and minutes due to their variation with differences in time and place, and they are clear by two apparent signs. As for the sun's rising, which ends the time of prohibition, it is estimated at approximately fifteen minutes, and the sun's culmination in the middle of the sky is estimated at ten minutes before Dhuhr, all of which are approximations.
