Is it permissible to give the expiation for the remaining days of Ramadan's make-up fasts, after a year has passed, to a trusted person to distribute on her behalf?

Fasting during Ramadan must be compensated for by anyone who broke their fast due to a legitimate Shar'i excuse. It is recommended to make up for it promptly, and it is not permissible to delay it until after Sha'ban unless there is an excuse. Whoever delays making up the fast without an excuse until another Ramadan begins, sins and must make up the fast along with an expiation of feeding one needy person for each day. As for whoever delays making up the fast due to an excuse, such as illness, they only need to make up the fast without expiation. If you fell ill at the end of Sha'ban and were unable to make up the fast, no expiation is required of you. However, if you were able to make it up and did not, then expiation is required along with making up the fast. It is permissible to give the expiation before making up the fast, or simultaneously with it, or after it. It is also permissible to give it to a trustworthy person to deliver it to those deserving of it.
