Which is more correct regarding shaving the head hair when exiting a state of ihram: shaving down to the earlobe or down to the upper edge of the ear?

The hair growing next to the ear canal, which is called the sideburns (al-'idhar), is not considered part of the head hair but rather part of the boundary of the face, so it is not prescribed to shave or shorten it. As for the hair next to the top of the ear (al-sudgh), it is considered part of the head and is included in the ruling for shaving or shortening. It is recommended, when shaving, to reach the bone at the point where the sudgh hair meets the face.
