Is there a consensus regarding the validity of ghusl by encompassing the entire body and the roots of the hair without prior wudu’, and that ghusl is not invalidated by the emission of something during it? And is wudu’ obligatory for prayer thereafter? And is following Ibn Taymiyyah considered a departure from the four madhhabs, or are his preponderant opinions considered an independent madhhab?

Scholars have unanimously agreed on the validity of ghusl (ritual bath) by covering the entire body without performing wudu (ablution) beforehand. They also agreed that the emission of urine, feces, or gas does not invalidate ghusl, as these are nullifiers of wudu, not ghusl. The choices of Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah are considered valid ijtihads (independent reasoning), and there is no blame on anyone who follows him in these matters, given his known thoroughness and adherence to evidence, as long as their intention is not to merely seek out blameworthy concessions.
