Is it permissible to use a reabsorbed gelatin sponge made from the gelatin of a newborn pig's skin to stop bleeding, in the absence of an alternative or when medically necessary, given that it undergoes chemical and medical processes that alter its properties and form?

If a product made from pigskin or other impurities transforms into another substance (like sponge) due to manufacturing processes, it becomes pure, according to the preponderant opinion among scholars. However, if it does not transform and remains in its original state, it is permissible to use it out of necessity and in the absence of a pure alternative, due to Allah’s saying: "And He has already detailed for you what He has forbidden you, except for that to which you are compelled."
