Is it permissible to divorce a wife who spoke with a foreign man online, then denied it and swore that it was the first time and just a normal conversation?

It must be clarified that conversing with a stranger unnecessarily opens a door to temptation (fitna), and one should beware of the dangers of the internet. Divorce is not advised as long as the wife is upright and no suspicion has arisen from her. The husband must exercise his right of guardianship (qawamah) over his wife, close the doors to temptation, establish Allah’s limits in his home, cooperate with her in obedience to Allah, and have a good opinion of her.
