The question

Why did God not create me male and spare me this hardship, and what would have happened in the world if there were one more male in it, or what sin did I commit in pre-eternity before I was born to be punished with this retribution?

The answer

First: One must repent from expressions that indicate discontent with Allah’s decree and impugn His wisdom, such as "as if my nature was placed in the wrong body" and "what did I commit in primordial eternity to be punished with this retribution?" For Allah’s trial is not a punishment, and whoever tastes the sweetness of faith is pleased with Allah as Lord, Islam as a religion, and Muhammad as a Messenger.

Second: This condition is often psychological and is known as "gender identity disorder" or "gender dysphoria," and it does not necessitate "sex reassignment" surgery. Its cause is often attributed to parents and the home environment. Therefore, it is advised to consult a female psychiatrist who is trustworthy in her knowledge and religion, while adhering to acts of worship, remembrances, and sincere supplication to be rid of this anxiety.
