Is a person afflicted with gender identity disorder, due to the erroneous treatment of his parents, rewarded for seeking to earn their pleasure despite his inner suffering and his desire for women, and his feeling of suffocation in his marriage?

Patience in the face of affliction and striving against the self to obey Allah are righteous deeds for which Allah bestows the greatest reward, for "Indeed, the patient will be given their reward without account." And if Allah loves a people, He afflicts them. Whoever is content receives contentment, and whoever is displeased receives displeasure. Furthermore, any affliction that befalls a believer expiates their sins. It is advised not to surrender to deviant inclinations but to seek Allah's help and seek treatment from specialists, for every illness has a cure.
