Should one supplicate for Muslims or for believers, taking into consideration the noble verses: "Our Lord, forgive me and my parents and the believers on the Day the account is established" and "My Lord, forgive me and my parents and whoever enters my house a believer, and [for] the believing men and believing women," and the noble Hadith: "Whoever seeks forgiveness for believing men and believing women, Allah will record for him a good deed for every believing man and believing woman"?

There is no harm in supplicating with the wording "Muslims" or "believers." Whoever seeks forgiveness for Muslims or believers has done good, for which they will be rewarded. Abu Darda' used to say during the prayer for the deceased: "O Allah, forgive our living and our dead Muslims. O Allah, forgive the Muslim men and women, and the believing men and women..." Supplicating for Muslims or believers is entirely good, and its doer will be rewarded. If a person supplicates with a reported supplication, it is preferable to adhere to the wording that has been narrated as much as possible.
