Is it permissible to continue thinking about and being attached to someone after he has married another, and is wishing ill upon his wife considered permissible?

The questioner is advised to turn to Allah in supplication to grant her a righteous husband, and to entrust her affairs to Him, citing the verse: "But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah Knows, while you know not" (Quran 2:216).

She is encouraged to perform Istikhara (prayer for guidance) when embarking on any permissible matter. The hadith: "There is nothing better for two who love each other than marriage" is also mentioned.

The questioner is cautioned that her inability to imagine marriage to anyone other than the man she loves might be from the whispers of Satan, and that there are successful marriages that were not built on prior love.

She is warned against causing discord between the man and his wife, as this involves the forbidden act of incitement (takhbib), and it is impermissible to harbor love for a non-mahram man.
